BSTN Taps Football Legend Marcelo For New adidas Oregon Ultra Tech Collab
ALEX NGUYEN•August 20, 2026
BSTN is continuing its long-running partnership with adidas through a new chapter of the "OG with a Twist" series, this time built around the archival Oregon Ultra Tech. It marks the pair's third collaboration, following their work on the Samba in 2023 and the Handball Spezial in 2025, extending a strategy centered on mining the Three Stripes' deeper archival catalog.
Originally released in the early 1990s, the Oregon Ultra Tech was built as a running shoe with a breathable mesh upper, complemented by suede overlay panels across the mudguard, toe, and heel counter. This revival keeps that original construction intact while updating it through two colorways with a more contemporary feel: a Lilac and Butter Yellow pairing, and a white-based option accented with black and light blue. Both carry an "OG with a Twist" tongue tag alongside BSTN branding on the lace locks, staying true to the design language that's run through the collaboration.

The standout element of this release is the campaign's face, Brazilian football legend Marcelo. Bringing in the former Real Madrid defender gives the Oregon Ultra Tech a level of visibility that extends well beyond the archival-sneaker crowd already familiar with the silhouette, while reinforcing the project's ties to adidas' sporting roots.

Unlike the Samba or Handball Spezial, both of which have become mainstream fashion staples in recent seasons, the Oregon Ultra Tech remains a more under-the-radar pick, one aimed at sneakerheads well-versed in adidas' lesser-known archival releases.
The BSTN x adidas Oregon Ultra Tech "OG with a Twist" officially releases on August 22, 2026.
