Nike Ja 4 "Nightmare": Debut Colorway Kicks Off Ja Morant's Fourth Signature Line
KEN LE•August 09, 2026
Ja Morant is entering a new chapter with the launch of his fourth signature shoe, and "Nightmare" leads the way as the debut colorway. The release lines up with Morant's move to the Portland Trail Blazers, making this drop notable on both the basketball and sneaker fronts.

Design-wise, the shoe pairs an Obsidian base with Voltage Green accents and Multi-Color details, delivering a bold look that matches the "Nightmare" name. A diamond-textured upper adds visual depth while reinforcing lockdown support for quick bursts and sharp direction changes, a fit for Morant's explosive playing style.
On the performance side, the Ja 4 brings a few upgrades over its predecessor. A ZoomX and Cushlon 3.0 midsole combo delivers solid responsiveness, while a supercritical foam sockliner balances cushioning with quick rebound. The standout addition is the JA-Frame containment system, built to keep the foot locked in during fast cuts and rapid direction changes.

The Ja line has come a long way since its debut in 2023, building real momentum with the Ja 3 in 2025. With the Ja 4 "Nightmare," Nike is positioning the line as one of the signature series to watch this basketball season, backed by both the tech upgrades and the story behind the launch.
The shoe is set to release on August 13, 2026, for $130.
