Vomero 18 x NCAA: New Running Collection Set to Drop

Nike just unveiled the Vomero 18 x NCAA collection, and it's a smart move, bringing the identity of American college programs into everyday running instead of keeping it boxed into basketball or football silhouettes like before. To me, this is the right call. Basketball and football silhouettes have always been a tough sell off the court or field, while a runner like the Vomero slots into a daily rotation far more easily.
22 schools have been confirmed so far, from familiar names like Michigan, Ohio State, Alabama, Texas, down to Oregon, Nike's own spiritual home turf. That number will almost certainly grow before the new season kicks off.
Design Details: More Than Just a Colorway Dump
What I respect most about this collab is the attention to detail at every layer. The upper, built from breathable mesh, gets treated in each school's signature colorway, not some lazy logo slap-on job. The Swoosh is constructed in multiple layers, with the school's logo tucked subtly onto the outer heel, restrained enough to keep the silhouette's original identity intact.
On the tech side, a stacked midsole packs premium ZoomX foam, the same performance language Nike usually reserves for its racing lineup. Bringing ZoomX down into a lifestyle-leaning shoe like the Vomero signals Nike isn't willing to trade off real running performance just to chase the hype.
Pricing and Where to Buy
Priced at $165 a pair, distributed through Nike.com, Fanatics, and individual school merchandise stores, this collab sits at a premium tier above standard Vomero retail.
Personally, I'm most curious whether Nike will expand into the remaining SEC or Big Ten schools. The current lineup of 22 is only the opening move.
